Change of Plans

So... we thought that since most everything for the wedding was already planned for San Antonio... we would spice things up a little and change everything! JK... but we have made some changes to our special day which will just make things a little easier and more affordable :)
Ian and I are tying the knot in The Woodlands! Nothing like a hometown wedding... and we couldn't be more excited to be marrying each other and to share this special day with our family and close friends.
Our ceremony & reception will be held in Town Green Park right in the heart of The Woodlands on October 2, 2010.

Blog Blog Blog...

So I'm very excited... I learned that I have @ least 2 that follow my blog today. I knew of 1, my lovely great-grand little in Zeta (Alyssa), but then @ dinner today of my my best friends, Mandie, said "Keon... you need to update your blog!"
So just as you requested Miss Mandie Moo... I will update! :)

I'm just so excited to be marrying Ian in October... I really have never been more sure of anything in my life. I'm sure I have already written that several times on here... but I am just more aware of it everyday. How am I so lucky to have found the man I want to spend the rest of my life with when I was merely 16?! Well... I found him when I was 10... but neither of us had ANY idea that we would be where we are today 13 years later. He is just such a wonderful part of my life and I wouldn't trade my relationship and friendship with him for anything.

My maid-of-honor, Laura, and dear friend, Susan, are throwing me my 1st bridal shower in 12 days and I am just so excited! I can't wait to see some good girlfriends who I hardly ever see all under the same roof next Sunday. I've been having a bit of a struggle with my family latley and just their thoughts on Ian and I's religous beliefs... and my friends have been my saving grace. I love them all so very much and don't know how I would have gotten through the past 2 months without them... there continues to be a little bit of drama in my household, but I'm just hoping and praying to the man upstairs that all will blow over and that he will just let my family and our relationships go back to normal.

Ian is driving up here tonight because we are going to pre-marital counseling tomorrow. I'm really excited about it bc I know we'll be asked questions and things will come up that we may have never even thought to discuss with eachother... but I'm not scared or nervous in the least bit. Every new thing that I learn about my future husband just makes me fall more in love with him...

signing off... xoxo

Wedding Planning...

Well the wedding plans are still in full swing. We have 6 months and 2 days left until we are Mr. and Mrs! We are both still so excited and can't wait to start our new life together!

I started making Ian's wedding band in my metals & jewelry class the other week... so far so good! It still needs to be cleaned a little bit more and some TLC but it's looking great and I'm so proud of myself! haha. Not to toot my own horn or anything- but never in a million years did I think I could and would make Ian's wedding band! so excited for the final product... (i'll post pictures when it's all said and done)

Hopefully the save-the-dates will be sent out by the end of this week... life is just so busy it's hard to keep on top of all the little details- but I'm still enjoying them non-the-less.

I don't know what else to tell you guys... life is busy busy with school, work and being the future Mrs. Ian Kurtin but I wouldn't change it for the world... I'm so in love with Ian and life and everyone who is in mine... and I am counting my blessings everyday!

I am attempting to make Ian's wedding band in my metals & jewelry class.
Just started on it today... wish me luck!

So I'm definitely ready to head south on 35 and meet my future hubby in Austin, Texas. Only 7 months and 1 more day until I am Mrs. Ian Kurtin & I just can't wait! It really is just too crazy how fast time flies by. It feels like it was just the other day when I was 16 and telling a girlfriend on mine what a good boyfriend Ian would make for some lucky girl. The thought that I could be THAT GIRL was the farthest thing from my mind at the time! But later that year I was lucky enough to experience 1st hand what an AMAZING boyfriend Ian would make to that lucky girl. :) And now he is an amazing fiancé and will soon be my amazing husband!

He is the light of my life and seems to be the 1 person who really keeps me sane. He is my rock and my strength. My best friend and my soulmate... I am just so blessed!

Graduation in 166 days & the wedding in 214 days!!!

Loving Life in Texas

SO MUCH is happening in my life right now. Between hours upon hours @ the studios (both ceramics and metals), wedding planning, nursing a mother who just had surgery on her broken foot, and simply just trying to finish my 5th year (aka "victory lap") of college & graduate... i'm pooped!
Energy levels definitely seem to be low these days... but August 14th is just around the corner and I can finally walk across that stage and know that I will never have to take another art history or psychology class again! (unless I want to later in life-that is)
So yes... looking forward to August 14th-Graduation! August 20th-VEGAS! for my bachelorette party!!! October 2nd for the BIG DAY when I get to marry my best friend... and moving down to Austin sometime in between!
So I guess we all get the point that I'm busy busy... but I always am and always love it- so I can't complain!
This past weekend I was lucky enough to have Ian come for a visit! We went down to Billy-Bob's in Ft.Worth and spent the day listening to amazing music by Pat Green and his band! We got his autograph and had a "meet-n-greet" with him where we called me "Red!" (not a big deal or anything...) HAHA. I love Pat Green! Ian and I have just grown up on his music and have seen in in concert quite a few times. Anyhow- it was a great day! It was also my girlfriend, Ginnie's, birthday so we were lucky enough to meet up with a group of great friends for dinner and shared the evening concert with them!
Sorry that this blog is all over the place... that's just how my mind is... therefore the blog is too! I promised to blog more... not that it would be a good blog ;)
Wedding plans are still coming along! Our save-the-dates were suppose to go out around Valentine's Day... BUT there are just too many to address and Valentine's is sneaking up faster than anticipated- so they will go out ASAP! But everything else has really fallen into place and I just am so excited to be marrying such an amazing man. Ian is everything that I have EVER wanted in a man and I am so excited to start our life together. Sometimes I still can't believe that he picked me... I am so blessed and truly am the luckiest girl in the world. He is my rock, my better half, and just my everything. :) I'm so happy!

Busy Busy...

So I thought that I was going to start blogging more frequently, but I just keep forgetting I even have a blog! New Year's resolution.... blog. (well- that'll be 1 of them anyway)

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and will have a very happy new year! I am headed south tomorrow (leaving hopefully just before the snow rolls in) to Houston and then to Austin... back to Houston... back again to Austin... and then finally down to San Antonio on Jan.10th for a bridal show with my lovely M.O.H, Laura! I'm excited to see my love, his family, and wonderful friends in Austin.

Wedding plans are in full swing and I'm still enjoying every minute of it! Save-the-dates and invitations have been designed and selected, dress has been bought, and all the little details are beginning to come together.

Still new to "blogging" so I have no clue what to write... but I'll get the hang of it- hopefully. And if not... there are more important things in life. ;) Well, I'm off to finish packing... hopefully you'll hear from me soon....
